What is Counselling and Psychotherapy

What is Counselling?

Counselling gives you a chance to explore your issues in a confidential space. Counselling is often described as the talking therapy; it is a safe way to discuss your thoughts and feelings. As your therapist I am able to provide a friendly and non-judgemental space to talk through any current issues you are facing.

What is Psychotherapy?

Like counselling, in psychotherapy you can share what is troubling you and are listened to and supported in finding ways forward. Psychotherapy looks at your behavioural patterns and experiences that may be causing you distress in your daily life.

Psychotherapy works to help you have a deeper understanding of your emotions by looking at your past. It questions how what you experienced in earlier life affects you in ways that might still be causing you issues now.

Psychotherapy aims to find the very origins of your issues and challenges and enables you to make positive changes.

As a trained relational counsellor and psychotherapist I tailor the work to the client depending on what you wish to explore and how many sessions you require. Whatever the issue counselling gives you a space to explore where you are in your life, how you got there and how you can move forward.

I aim to create a supportive and empowering space for clients to explore any issues they face, I aim to understand you and your way of dealing with life to enable me to encourage change and raise your self awareness.
